De Molen Mooi & Meedogenloos

  • Name: De Molen Mooi & Meedogenloos, 10.2%, Netherlands
  • Appearance: Bottled 15/1-2013. Very dark brown, pretty flat, actually.
  • Aroma: Dark fruit, raisins, slight alcohol.
  • Taste: More dark fruit, some sort of tingling bitterness, nice and warming. Great.
  • Bought: Saveur-Biere.com, 330 ml, €3.60

BrewDog Santa Paws (Baby Dogma)

  • Name: BrewDog Santa Paws (Baby Dogma), 4.5%, Scotland
  • Appearance: Batch 279. Dark brown, clear. Nice amount of tan head.
  • Aroma: Malt, slightly roasted.
  • Taste: Dark malt, slight smoke and roasted. Good balance and punches above its 4.5% weight.

Hellers Kölsch

  • Name: Hellers Kölsch, 4.5%, Germany
  • Appearance: Flip-top bottle. Yellow golden, slightly hazy. Flat, not much head at all.
  • Aroma: Fruit, floral.
  • Taste: Fruits, grapefruit, quite sweet. Nice and summery.

  • Appearance: Dark amber, hazy. Some light tan head.
  • Aroma: Tart fruit, oak.
  • Taste: Tart fruit, barrel/oak, slight dark malt? Too tart for me.

Oskar Blues Old Chub

  • Name: Oskar Blues Old Chub, 8.0%, United States
  • Appearance: Canned 16/10-2014. Very dark brown, almost black. Dark tan head.
  • Aroma: Malt, some sweetness.
  • Taste: Very dark malt, slight smoke and scotch. Some sweetness. Good balance and hides the alcohol very well. Very enjoyable.

Schumacher Latzenbier

  • Name: Schumacher Latzenbier, 5.5%, Germany
  • Appearance: Dark, clear amber. Some light tan head.
  • Aroma: Malt, not sure much else. Slight yeast?
  • Taste: Dark malt, toasted. Smooth and easy drinking. Based on my experience I don't recommend drinking a full bottle of this with an Indian lentils dinner due to enormous gas production. Almost lost a few friends the next day...

  • Name: Phnom Penh Stout, 7%, Cambodia
  • Appearance: Very dark brown, nice dark tan head.
  • Aroma: Sweetness, dark malt.
  • Taste: Dark malt, sweet, slightly toasted. Good.
  • Bought: Trade with Erzengel - thanks!, 200 ml sample

Mikkeller Invasion Farmhouse IPA

  • Name: Mikkeller Invasion Farmhouse IPA, 8.0%, Denmark
  • Appearance: Slightly hazy yellow, fizzy, humongous amount of creamy, white head. Long lasting.
  • Aroma: Hops, citrus fruit.
  • Taste: Lots of hops, as expected. Nice citrus fruit notes and well balanced. Slight tartness. I might even be able to finish this big bottle.
