• Taste: Grass, grains, standard cheap malt. Not so bad while barbecuing in the sun.

Cardinal Brunette

• Name: Cardinal Brunette, 5.5%, Switzerland
• Appearance: Flip-top bottle. Dark copper brown, clear. Some off-white head.
• Aroma: Odd mix of metal and malt. Not promising.
• Taste: Malt, slightly chemical and metallic. Not good enough.
• Bought: Halle aux Boissons (Matran), 330 ml, CHF 1.70

Cardinal Eve Wild Orange

• Name: Cardinal Eve Wild Orange, 3.1%, Switzerland
• Appearance: Peach orange. Crystal clear. Minimal head.
  
• Aroma: Orange, peach. Fruit juice, basically.
  
• Taste: I wish I could describe the way the malt and hops play together in harmony, but this also tastes like fruit juice with maybe a hint of "beer taste". Very sweet. Tick-tock.

• Appearance: Pale peach. Clear and bubbly. Some white head.
  
• Aroma: Sweet fruit, mango. Not beer-y.
  
• Taste: Very sweet, fruits - could it be mango, slightly chilled perhaps? Nice and easy-drinking, but not really a beer...

Cardinal sins?

I have been wondering which beer in the Cardinal range I would prefer: Original Draft, Spéciale or Lager. As I had two of them ready for tasting anyway, I decided to compare them once and for all:
Appearance: The Draft is lightest, Spéciale darker and Lager just slightly darker again.
Aroma: Draft, very little. Spéciale and Lager more and nicer.
Taste: Draft more yeasty and watery. Spéciale more traditional. Lager slightly more bitter.

I have rated these 2/6, 3/6 and 3/6, and the final ranking is:
