The Stillman’s Nero

  • Name: The Stillman’s Nero, 12%, Switzerland
  • Appearance: Very dark brown. Quite flat. Oily.
  • Aroma: Very dark malt, coffee, barrel.
  • Taste: Very dark malt, licorice, coffee. Barrel, but not too overpowering. Very nice!
  • Bought: Fribourg Beer Festival, 330 ml, CHF 5.00

  • Aroma: Dark malt, slight oak, smooth.
  • Taste: Dark malt, more oak, coffee. Smooth.

  • Name: Sottobisio Xpochi, 8.5%, Switzerland
  • Appearance: Very dark brown, small dark tan head.
  • Aroma: Dark malt, roasted, coffee.
  • Taste: Very dark malt, roasted, burnt, coffee. Light bitterness. Good, but not great.
  • Bought: Craft Gallery, 330 ml, CHF 6.50

Sainte Crucienne Sombre Héro

  • Name: Sainte Crucienne Sombre Héro, 6%, France
  • Appearance: Clear amber, some off-white head. Sediments at the bottom of bottle.
  • Aroma: Hops and fruit, citrus.
  • Taste: Quite a bit of hops, also medium fruits and malt. Good balance. IPA-like.
