  • Taste: Lemon and wheat, slight sourness and earth.

Pitfield 1792 Imperial Stout

  • Name: Pitfield 1792 Imperial Stout, 9.3%, England
  • Appearance: Basically black, quite small tan head. Some sediments.
  • Aroma: Malt, coffee, slight alcohol.
  • Taste: Strong malt, burnt, leather. Oil. Still quite smooth, though.
  • Bought: Brewery, 500 ml, £3.60

  • Appearance: Very dark brown, black-ish. Some dark tan head.
  • Aroma: Very dark malt, coffee, chocolate. Roasted.
  • Taste: Dark malt, again coffee and roasted. Quite smooth.

  • Appearance: Very dark brown, almost black. Little bit of dark tan head.
  • Aroma: Dark malt, coffee, leather. Roasted. Chocolate.
  • Taste: Dark malt, roasted and coffee. Still smooth, though.

  • Appearance: Jeez! Half the bottle gushed out when opening. Cloudy orange, some sediments. A bit of white head.
  • Aroma: Citrus, yeast. Slight malt. Not very pleasant.
  • Taste: Some hops and yeast. Citrus and fruit.

  • Taste: Malt, bitterness. Some fruit, lemon? Standard - slightly disappointed.
