  • Appearance: Clear red, reddish head but not much of it.
  • Aroma: Berries, all different kinds.
  • Taste: Again, lots of berries. Sweet. Not much "beer flavour" in there.
  • Bought: Halle aux Boissons (Matran), 250 ml, CHF ?.??
  • Overall score: 2/6

  • Appearance: Red, hint of brown. Little bit of head (fizzy).
  • Aroma: Fruit, strong cherry. A bit sour.
  • Taste: Sour cherry, but also very sweet.

Did not initially see that the ideal serving temperature according to the 500-book is 70 degrees Celsius. At 6% instead of the 6.5% listed in the 500-book.
  • Name: Liefmans Glühkriek, 6%, Belgium
  • Appearance: Dark, brownish red. Basically no head.
  • Aroma: Cold: Fruit and a bit of cinnamon. Hot: Strong cloves/cinnamon aroma.
  • Taste: Cold: Sweet, but acidic too. Herbs/fruit. Hot: Like mulled wine, cinnamon.
  • Bought: Beers of Europe, 250 ml, £1.29

  • Appearance: Dark brown, slightly red. Nice amount of head. Pretty longlived.
  • Aroma: Earthy, bitter grains. Dark fruit?
  • Taste: Fruity, bittersweet. Bit of sourness. Not too bad.
