Adnams Ghost Ship

  • Appearance: Golden orange, slightly hazy. Some off white head.
  • Aroma: Malt, sweetness.
  • Taste: Malt, toasted, followed by hops. Nutty? Good balance.

Adnams East Green Carbon Neutral

I think it is great that Adnams have produced a Carbon Neutral beer, and hopefully more brewers will follow suit. I just wish the beer tasted nicer. As someone commented, "this was more flavour neutral than carbon neutral".

Adnams Innovation

Found this one in Waitrose, Canary Wharf, London. Limited edition with identification tag (mine is bottle number 1792 of 7000) and in a nice cardboard box.

  • Appearance: Light clear golden, little head. More when warmer.
  • Aroma: Floral and some hops. Quite fruity. Apricot.
  • Taste: Quite fruity and flowery. Some malt and hops. Nice.

Adnams Bitter

This bottled version at 4.5%, not 3.7% as listed in the 300-book.
  • Name: Adnams Bitter, 4.5%, England
  • Appearance: Redish brown. Little bit of head.
  • Aroma: Malty, bit of fruit.
  • Taste: Pretty malty. Hops. Nice bitter aftertaste.
  • Bought: Waitrose, 500 ml, £1.79
  • Overall score: 4/6

The below bottle of Adnams Suffolk Strong Bitter was actually bought by mistake, as I thought it was the Adnams Bitter from the 300-book. Turned out that the beer was in the 500-book (where it is called Adnams Suffolk Strong Ale).

  • Aroma: Berries, malty.
  • Taste: Full flavour, malty.
  • Bought: Tesco, 500 ml, £1.58

But then, according to Ratebeer, they are all the same beer anyway :-).
