  • Name: St-Feuillien Cuvée de Noël, 9%, Belgium
  • Appearance: Dark brown, hint of red, clear. Some fizzy light tan head.
  • Aroma: Dark malt, spices, anise. Licorice.
  • Taste: Dark malt, warming. Lots of spices, anise. Definitely tastes of Christmas, which feels odd in May.
  • Bought: Gift from MG - thanks!, 330 ml

BFM La Brouette

  • Name: BFM La Brouette, 5%, Switzerland
  • Appearance: Flip-top bottle. Hazy amber, quite a bit of off-white head.
  • Aroma: Hops, light tart fruits, herbs.
  • Taste: Hops, malt, herbs. Fruits, slight tartness, but less than most BFM beers. Some tea, but not lots of it.
  • Bought: Halle aux Boissons (Matran), 330 ml, CHF 4.25

  • Appearance: Dark brown, clear. Some creamy tan head.
  • Aroma: Dark malt, roasted, dark fruit.
  • Taste: Dark malt, dark fruit, molasses. Slight burnt end. Nice and warming.

  • Appearance: Burnt orange, slightly hazy. Very small head.
  • Aroma: Lots of hops, citrus.
  • Taste: Lots of hops, light fruits, slight pine? Hides alcohol well.

Kaapse Gozer Oak Aged

  • Name: Kaapse Gozer Oak Aged, 9.8%, Netherlands
  • Appearance: Very dark brown, almost black. Minuscule dark tan head.
  • Aroma: Dark malt, roasted, coffee.
  • Taste: Dark malt, coffee, burnt. Then the oak/barrel kicks in that I feel overshadows everything else a bit.

  • Appearance: Clear golden, not much head.
  • Aroma: Grains, light malt.
  • Taste: Grains, wheat. Yeast and light malts. Tastes almost like a non-alcoholic beer, which is not a compliment...
